Social Tracker October 2019
October’s Social Reviews saw another month of overall ratings holding steady at 4.3, a year on year increase of 0.2 points which is reflected across Google, Facebook and TripAdvisor.
The Restaurant Segment drives the year on year increase, with ratings from all three channels up year on year (Facebook +0.4, Google and TripAdvisor +0.3 Oct 19 vs. Oct 18). In the Pub/Bar segment Google and Facebook ratings are up 0.1 year on year and TripAdvisor sees no change.
Time continues to precious to reviewers with wait times the strongest negative theme across all channels.
Although we continue to see a larger share of negative reviews on TripAdvisor, reviews in the Restaurant segment saw a 7% increase for positive reviews on TripAdvisor, with Neutral and Negative reviews seeing declines of -3.1% and -4.3% respectively. With 7% of positive reviews in the restaurant segment mentioning cocktails, it appears that many restaurants are upping their game on their cocktail offering and driving a faster increase in social ratings than the pub/bar segment.
